Under the name of Lacoste, being produced an enormous quantity of sport inventory, clothing, perfumery and another production, all having a great demand all other the world. The question is who deserve special thanks for this popularity of Lacoste.

Rene Lacoste is the founder of Lacoste fashion house. He is well known tennis player, “the hero” of France. He is a legend in his country almost like Pele in Brazil.

Rene Lacoste made a great achieving for French tennis by winning Davis cup. A legend says that as special thanks for this achievement, the coach of the French team bought gave Lacoste suitcase made of crocodile leather, after this event, the nickname “crocodile” was Rene’s second name.

The gifted athlete was not offended at all, conversely, he decided to support this idea and on his next game he appeared with polo shirt decorated by sharp-toothed crocodile logo, which lately became a symbol, first of tennis player, but in the consequence, of enormous corporation.

At the beginning of the Thirties of past century, in 1933 to be exact, Lacoste, together with the owner of textile factory Andre Gillier opened small company, which specializes on production of clothing for intelligent sports such as golf, tennis, and yachting.

The advantage of the produced models of polo’s, sweaters and jackets, consisted in the fact that all models were decorated with small, handily embroidered crocodile logos, emblems “of the hero” of France. Therefore not surprisingly, the first parties of products were simply swept from the stores. In the consequence the comfort and style of this production were evaluated by fashion mongers of other countries.

However Lacoste it did not stopped on producing sport clothing, he also developed new forms of rackets for tennis, special body-builders, and other innovations, which helped to develop his favorite sport. Furthermore, by the seventies, first perfume of Lacoste house was found and it also found its fans.

Being gradually developed, Lacoste fashion house today has enormous sizes: representations and productions are located in different countries around the world, such as in Italy, Spain and Israel, when the total number of company stores around the world already reached 2000.

Now thanks to support of new creative director Christophe Lemaire, Lacoste fashion house attempts to come out with new level. Further to this change even the famous crocodile logo replaced his color from green to the silver gray.
